Our Commitment to Privacy

At Retirement Housing Foundation (RHF), your privacy is important to us and we are committed to protecting your privacy online. Our pledge is to reasonably safeguard any personal information that you provide us, and to make every reasonable effort to use this information only as you choose.

Scope of this Notice

The goal of this Privacy Notice is to advise you of the online privacy practices of rhf.org and to describe the choices you have about the way the personal information collected on this site is used.

Collecting Your Personal Information

This Online Privacy Notice covers the collection and use of personal information. Personal information is data that can be reasonably used to identify or describe an individual.

RHF collects information on-line when:

  • you submit a Donate Your Vehicle application on-line;
  • you submit an information request form for planned giving information online; and
  • you contact us via e-mail at info@rhf.org.

The type of information collected may include:

  • name;
  • address;
  • e-mail address;
  • phone numbers;
  • information being requested;
  • auto/boat donation information, such as year, make, model, berthing fees, etc.;
  • information pertinent to planned giving, such as age, assets, etc.; and
  • information voluntarily sent via e-mail.

Using Your Personal Information

RHF uses the personal information you provide to:

  • answer your e-mail;
  • send information that you requested;
  • process an auto/boat donation; and
  • process a planned giving information request.

Sharing Your Personal Information

RHF will not sell, rent or trade the personal information you provide online. We may share your personal information with:

Certain business affiliates. RHF’s business affiliates include RHF’s subsidiaries, joint ventures and managed communities. If RHF shares your information with a business affiliate, RHF does not permit them to transfer your information to another party for marketing purposes or use your information contrary to your expressed choices.

  • Companies and organizations who may assist RHF in completing or following-up on your request. RHF may share your personal information, as necessary, with companies who contract with RHF to facilitate vehicle, planned giving and other charitable donations and to provide assistance or further information that you have requested. We require these companies to use the shared information only for these limited purposes, and not transfer the information to another party.

RHF may disclose personal information to third parties without your consent for any of the following reasons: to comply with any law, regulation or court order, to cooperate with Government investigations, to help prevent fraud or to enforce or protect the rights of RHF or its business affiliates.

RHF reserves the right to transfer your personal information in connection with the sale or transfer of all or a portion of our business or assets.  

Protecting Your Information

RHF implements a variety of administrative, managerial and technical security measures to help protect your personal information. RHF has internal control standards which relate specifically to handling personal information. These include certain controls to help safeguard the information we collect online.

RHF employees are trained to understand and comply with these controls and we communicate our privacy policy, practices and guidelines to our employees. However, while we strive to protect your personal information, you must also take steps to protect your information. We urge you to take precautions to protect your personal information while you are on the Internet.

Children’s Privacy

Protecting the online privacy of children is especially important, and those under the age of 13 are protected by law. For that reason, RHF does not knowingly collect or solicit personal information about children under the age of 13, except with their parent’s express consent.

If we ever include children under the age of 13 as part of our intended site audience, those specific web pages will, in accordance to the provisions of the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), be clearly identified and provide an explicit privacy notice; and we will provide processes to obtain parental approval, provide access to information and allow parents to request removal of their children’s personal information.
